Multivariate and A/B testing

What is multivariate testing?

It’s a process of testing multiple different variants of the same page of a website at once. For instance, moving the contact us button between left and right side and the top and bottom of a page, and testing the variations to see which one gets the best clicks.

Think of Multivariate like a cocktail – you can add a slightly different shot of alcohol and it will still be a cocktail but taste completely different.

A/B testing is a bit different. This is when a completely different version of the page is created and shown to different users. Two or more pages are then statistically tested against one another to see which page performs the best. We like to think of A-B testing as a beer, each one is completely different.

Our advanced tools mean we can run multivariate and A/B tests on your site without needing to rebuild or design the page or site. No Pork Pies can create a variation, add it to your site (with no need to involve the web developer) and produce a statistical report stating which one works the best. You can then ask the designers and developers to get involved to create it, or we can do it for you.
