It was only a matter of time really. With the release of Google Chrome many people anticipated that Google’s next step was to step on Microsoft’s toes and go for the Operating System market and now it is happening, well in 2010 release date anyway.
“Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at netbooks. Later this year we will open-source its code, and netbooks running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve.”

The best part of it is that it’s free and open source so those of you that have Android mobile phones know what to look forward too!
All looks very exciting but it will mean that everything i do will be done in-line with Google, which freaks even me out!
