I was recently doing a search for 'car hire portugal' but due to Google suggest I actually selected 'car hire portugal faro airport'. The longer term is not what I would normally search on however thanks to Google suggest I realised that the longer term was more relevant as I do actually want to pick the car up from faro airport. Like you say, it will be interesting to see what happens with this but for me personally, I am more likely to use Google suggest for the longer tail terms that I may not have thought of (or could be bothered typing) in the first place!
