Google Goggles Android App

December 7, 2009 Author: Adam Lee

Google’s had a busy few days! Following the announcement of personalised search for all and Realtime search they have also announce a new Android Application called Google Goggles.

Google Goggles is a cool application that allows you to take a picture of an object and it will work out what it is saying, be it naming the object, painting or reading the text in the image. This can then be used to search Google for information.

This really does open up the mobile market to ‘real’ search queries as people can now search for information whilst they are out without having to make several search refinements due to mobile device limitations or lack of knowledge around the desired object.

Mobile search is going to be interesting in 2010.
